Introducing the Lighthouse Library
Here's a little bit about what to expect from this publication (and a list of fun facts)
This is The Lighthouse Library, currently a work in progress, where I learn by doing and encourage you to do so, too.
✨ More specifically, this is what to expect:
The Lighthouse Library is a cozy learning space where you’ll find tips, tools, inspiration, and personal essays. It is created with small business owners and founders in mind; those who are also writers and content creators, tired to be told to “niche harder,” write “killer headlines,” and “nourish [their] email lists.”
It is for those who want to publish their ideas consistently and with confidence to build a library, a body of work, rather than “create content.”
With my knowledge of the online publishing world and content management, I help you create but, more importantly, publish high quality long form content that will help you contribute meaningfully to conversations happening within your field. My goal is to encourage you to publish content you are proud to share, both because it makes sense in the context of your business and because it doesn’t box you in a niche that SEO and social media often demand us to stick to.

✨ In practical terms, you can expect:
- Personal essays & behind the scenes from my own experience building an online business, publishing long form content online, and building my own digital library;
- Practical tips and tools to get better at editing your work to increase its impact and quality without losing your voice and unique point of view
- More tips and tools to help you find confidence and clarity so you can publish consistently
- Interviews with founders and business owners with overlapping skills and areas of expertise, to enrich our thinking and habits
- … and probably more as I learn and hear from you along the way!
✨ About me 🐢
My name is Ely (reads like Ellie), I am a 30-something with a lifelong love for languages, communication, and ideas. I hold a BA in translation, and an MA in linguistics. This training has shaped the way I see communication: As meaning-making rather than a mere marketing tool. I have been thinking how humans exchange ideas for as long as I can remember.
I have been working with online publishing and content management for 8+ years. Most significantly, I was the Editorial Director for a digital publication that gathered up to 100,000 monthly readers without an SEO strategy (gasp!).
Instead, we focused on high quality writing, original thinking, and a clear editorial line. I worked with amazingly talented people who gained confidence from working with us, where we edited their written pieces in a collaborative, kind, and supportive way to give their ideas a global reach. Some of those writers went on to launch their own blogs and newsletters, gaining recognition and professional fulfillment in their fields along the way. Today I am opening my own consultancy, at crossroads between communication strategy and publishing, to provide that same support.
I live in Gothenburg, Sweden with my Argentinian partner, our toddler L, and our skogkatt Pygmy (she is very fluffy).
✨ Fun facts:
- I have owned a blog since I was 14 years old.
- My favorite color is orange (warm and joyful!).
- I wrote a book, which I am very bad at talking about, even though I am proud of the work I put into it and the result that came out from many hours spent researching, writing, and editing it. It still reflects the way I think and work, with a good dose of self-introspection. You can find it here.
- I have lived in 8 countries. The most mind-bending and world-shifting experience was living in Shanghai, China.
- I love sea turtles <3
- I speak 3 languages fluently and yes, I can work in all of them! I’m currently learning a fourth one (Swedish, of course).
I hope you’ve enjoyed this experimental post! Subscribe on your way out so we can have conversations about all these topics and more.
Welcome and see you around :)
Happy sailing! ⛵️
